Dr. Paula Requeijo received her medical degree with the highest honors from the University of Buenos Aires in 1998. During her training, she was a Fulbright scholarship recipient, finishing her studies at New York Hospital affiliated with Cornell University. After completing residency in Internal Medicine at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin she practiced as a Hospitalist at HCA’s St David’s Hospitals for 12 years.
Through her work experiences, Dr. Requeijo developed a passion for Transitional Care, focusing her interest on Acute-Post Acute integration. She became a Certified Medical Director through AMDA (Society For Post-Acute and Long Term Care Medicine) and served as Medical Director for several facilities in the care continuum. She also sits on various Post-Acute Advisory boards and remains active in the Austin healthcare community.
Additionally, Dr. Requeijo is a strong advocate and leader for compassionate terminal care. This initiative has included raising awareness and facilitating access to Palliative and Hospice services.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Requeijo has led EPC in its expansion outside of Texas. This work has focused on clinical innovation, strategic partnerships, and quality outcomes. As a leader in the health-care community, she has orchestrated a change in how patients are transitioned throughout the healthcare continuum. She has successfully trained and deployed cohesive teams of clinical providers that achieve outcomes trough responsible engagement and accountability.
Dr. Requeijo is currently certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the Texas Medical Association and an AMDA Certified Medical Director.
Before studying Medicine, she earned degrees in English Literature and Shakespearean studies from the University of Cambridge, England, and French degrees at the Alliance Francaise de Paris.
Her hobbies include outdoor activities including running, kayaking, skiing and scuba diving. When at home, she loves reading, and baking for her husband and two kids.Back to about page
