Dr. Requeijo developed her focus on Transitional Care Medicine, with a speciality in Acute-Post Acute integration after serving as a Hospitalist for 12 years. Serving in the acute setting allowed her to identify complexities and propose solutions to efficiently coordinate transitions of care. She then became an active Certified Medical Director, through AMDA, providing leadership in facilities across the care continuum. Dr. Requeijo also serves on a range of Post-Acute Advisory boards, remaining active in the Austin healthcare community.
Additionally, Dr. Requeijo is a vocal advocate and leader for compassionate terminal care. This initiative includes raising awareness and facilitating access to Palliative and Hospice services across the country.
Dr. Requeijo is certified in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the Texas Medical Association, AMDA (American Society for Post Acute and Long Term Care Medicine), and ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives)
